Our Review
If my desk wasn’t such a disaster, I would snap a photo showing how my copy of this book sits next to my laptop, ready for any CSS question I come across on a daily basis.
Obviously, I like this book — let me explain why…
This book is useful, to-the-point, and full of exactly the kind of information I need when working on my projects.
What you can expect to find in this book:
The content is laid out in a simple yet effective format. Each tip or technique starts in question format. Such as “How do I create a fixed-width, centered, two column layout?” The question is then immediately followed with the solution to the problem. This is one of my favorite aspects of the book, the solution is generally example code, short explanations and screenshots. This book has no fluff.
From complicated questions like the layout problem mentioned above to simple everyday css ponderings such as “How do I highlight the form field that the user clicks into?” The CSS Anthology provides the answers. Though I doubt “101″ covers every aspect of CSS — I personally havn’t run into a problem that this book couldn’t answer.
Not only is this the best CSS book I own, it is also the most useful and well-written book on a technical topic I have read. If you already use CSS in your web designs and are looking to master the subject or just have a reference guide, this book is for you. Because of it’s easy-to-read format I would propose that this book is also great for CSS newbies.
